We empower children! – Bullying? We say no!

The PowerKids project, created by Sicherheitsdienste Schmidt & Sohn GmbH, helps children to develop self-confidence, courage and inner strength. The project aims to teach young people how to behave appropriately in difficult situations and navigate everyday life safely.

Managing directors José Bermudo Roldan and Mario Bermudo Roldan developed a training and education programme that strengthens children both physically and mentally. José Bermudo Roldan has over 40 years’ experience in the security sector. Through his military career in a special forces unit and many years of practising Krav Maga, he has developed his own training method – the BDS System. Combining mental strength, tactical behaviour and effective self-defence based on Krav Maga, it has been refined through real-world experience over many years. Mario Bermudo Roldan has learned a great deal from his father and continues this philosophy with the same passion. Together, they deliver training with the utmost professionalism and responsibility.

The PowerKids project has been running since May 2025, taking place regularly on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the company’s own training centre or at locations where potential dangerous situations may arise. This enables children to apply their knowledge in realistic environments and respond correctly in everyday situations. The training covers assertiveness, building self-confidence and self-defence. The focus is not only on dealing properly with potential dangers, but also on the children’s physical and mental development. Despite the serious subject matter, fun and enjoyment always take centre stage. Play and shared laughter are integral to the programme because children learn best when they are enthusiastic.

In collaboration with educators, the police and psychologists, we ensure that children receive professional, personalised support. This creates a concept that conveys safety and strengthens children in the long term.

The management is particularly concerned with making the project accessible to all children, regardless of their parents’ financial situation. For this reason, the training is completely free of charge.
